Gloria Pitts worked as an administrative assistant. In 2002 she lost her job. “At first I was glad I was let go, then I got very depressed.” She thought, “Why me?” Then two illnesses in her family kept her from going back to work for three years. When she tried to get a job it was difficult.
She came to the ASSETS program thinking she would do something secretarial, but she realized she always wanted to work with children.
