Mind Coach

A highly sought after Retirement Life Planning Coach in Phoenix AZ, Jo Anne Musolf works with older clients who are looking for answers to what they are going to do with the next 20 to 30 years. Working with a wide variety of people who are entering this stage of their lives all with different expectations and desires, there seems to be one consistent definition for success: to get up each day and find meaning in their lives. Her advice is to find something that makes your blood boil or something that makes you laugh. Find the organizations out there that can utilize all your skills and talents. "Far too often we discount our ability to make a difference in organizations and in the world", claims Musolf.

She advises going into a job interview with a different approach; instead of focusing on your skills, focus on what the challenges are of the particular organization. If you feel you are being stonewalled in the HR department, find out who the person is who runs the department you wish to work in, or who the person in charge is, go over HR's head and contact that person directly. When clients approach her with age issues she points out "age is both a society perception and a personal perception". "Wallowing in that (age discrimination) doesn't help, because what you put your energy into, you get more of", and if what is really happening is this age thing, "then you can't focus on being old...you can't say 'well, what do you expect at my age?' because when you start saying that you literally carry that with you into interviews."

Hear her talk about how to help get people who are blue or slightly depressed to understand that it is not true that "the two digit number (age) that happens to be out there defines who I am or what I can do."

Find out her advice on networking at the coffee shop. Looking outside the box and opening up to people may open doors you never knew existed.
