Followed the Rules

Meet Bruce Dunlap, a healthy 62-year-old man, who was forced to "retire" and start collecting his Social Security benefits, something he would rather not be doing. "I would love to be working and putting into the system, not taking out from an already fragile program," said Bruce.

Four years ago when he was in his late 50's Bruce was working as an inside insurance adjuster for a California firm with an office that was located in Tempe, Arizona. He noticed a growing trend of promotion among the younger crowd in his company, bypassing him, even though his experience and performance surpassed theirs. He approached the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) who advised him to take his concerns to the president of the company. He did, and was then fired for no apparent reason.

He took his case to court. Did he win a settlement?

Bruce asks, “If you can't succeed in your chosen line of endeavor, how can you realize something else?”
